Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda (SGS) Vagdevi Centre for the Rehabilitation of Communication Impaired was established in June 2002 by Avadhoota Datta Peetham Trust under the guidance of His Holiness Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji, Mysore.

The Peetham has many branches in India and all over the world. Some of Datta Peetham projects include provision of food, education, shelter, job training and free medical help to the poor and the less privileged.

SGS Vagdevi Centre at Bangalore is one such project established to help the communication impaired.
The centre is headed by Mrs. Shantha Radhakrishna, Speech – Language Pathologist and Audiologist, trained in India and USA. She is one of the pioneers in Integrated Education for the Deaf and other communication Impaired children and has more than 30 years experience in this field. She did her post graduation in Speech and Hearing from the Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore and completed her MS in Speech - Language Pathology in Oklahoma State University, USA. She also received the Clinical Competency Certificate (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association and Aims & Objectives a member of the American Speech – Language Association (ASHA).
